Successfully EOD spot-task follow information from The Database and Coordination Unit of Quang Binh (DBCU) report more than 100 explosive ordnances found in the bomb crater at a local resident’s eucalyptus plantation in Bai Dinh Village, Dan Hoa Commune, Minh Hoa District.

Received information from DBCU, on 23 November 2022, PeaceTrees VietNam’s Multi-task Team No 2 was deployed quickly to handle such a large quantity of unexploded ordnances. As a result of identification, 140 items of unexploded ordnances found at the bomb crater included thirty-six 60 mm high-explosive mortars, seventeen 82 mm high-explosive mortars, two 82 mm projectiles, fifty-four 37 mm high-explosive projectiles, six 12.7 mm high explosive projectiles, one high-explosive grenade, twenty-two 37 mm projectile fuzes and two rocket fuzes. All of them were classified as “safe-to-move” unexploded ordnances. They were safely transported to a storage area for future demolition on the same day.

Many local residents in rural and mountainous areas still maintain a habit of throwing or dumping any explosive ordnances found on their farming land into the bomb craters nearby to continue their cultivation process. This is an extremely dangerous act that can lead to a landmine accident, causing the victim's death or lifelong disability. Please give us a call at the hotline number: 0901 941 941 (in Quang Tri) and 1800 1741 (in Quang Binh) when you see Explosive Ordnance.
