“I came across this unexploded ordnance about two years ago while herding my cow in a melaleuca plantation, but didn’t know how or who to report it,” said Mrs. Dinh Thi Tien, a 52-year-old woman residing in Thuan Phuoc village, Thuan Duc commune, Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province.

On 7 December 2022, Mrs. Tien finally had chance to report her finding to NPA non-technical survey team members Hoang Tuan Anh and Tran Thi My Le while they were interviewing local farmers in the village to learn where explosive ordnance is located. The NPA survey team also told Mrs. Tien how to report any future findings to the Quang Binh Database and Coordination Unit (DBCU) via the provincial phone reporting hotline – 1800 1741.
