To celebrate International Mine Awareness Day on 4 April 2023, MAG Vietnam opened a drawing contest themed “Together against explosive ordnance”. Hundreds of children from six primary schools in Quang Binh province participated in the contest. We received over 700 submissions!
This contest was a chance for children to review key messages learned from previous MAG explosive ordnance risk education sessions. By keeping these messages in mind, children can protect themselves from unexploded bombs.
An award ceremony was held at six schools yesterday. MAG also organised an extracurricular class on this theme at Cu Nam 1 primary school. Through interactive games, safety messages were once again introduced to the students.
After the contest, the winning entries were displayed in the schools to further the messages to other students. Crayons and drawing pads were offered to schoolchildren with the message to report bombs to adults. Let's get this safety message out to as many children as possible!
