INTRODUCTION OF MINE ACTION DATABASE AND COORDINATION UNIT OF QUANG BINH PROVINCE

(Overview of the workshop)

  Quang Binh DBCU project is implemented with the cooperation between Quang Binh Provincial People’s Committee and the Norwegian People’s Aid in Vietnam to carry out mine action activities in Quang Binh in the period 2020 – 2025. The project’s objectives are to support Quang Binh provincial authorities to establish, develop and implement a database unit with an appropriate information management and coordination system for mine action at provincial level, to enhance data collection, processing, safe storage and analysis for more informed mine action decision-making process by provincial and national authorities.

  At the workshop, the Project representative presented project overview including mine and UXO contamination and previous clearance efforts, background before project establishment, project necessity and purposes, project objectives in the first period, its organizational chart, progress and future plan in Quang Binh province. Additionally, participants were also introduced about relevant database and information.
